August 16th Meeting – Trends in Digital Voice

A link to Adam’s presentation can be found in the “TOOLBOX” tab at the top of the page. GREAT JOB, Adam!!

From DMR to D-Star, System Fusion, DVMEGA’s, Raspberry Pi’s…some of the most popular recent discussions revolve around digital voice and lots of DIY kits that can get you world wide communications with very little.

Be sure to join the Parker Radio Association on Tuesday, August 16th for its face-to-face meeting as Adam, W0AKO, presents his renowned “Trends in Digital Voice” presentation. The meeting will be held at Southeast Christian Church on Jordan Road in Parker (between E-470 & Lincoln Ave).  We meet around 6:45PM for an informal meet-and-greet, followed by our business meeting at 7PM, and wrapped up by our monthly presentation.

If you have ever wanted to find out what the latest is in digital voice communications, you will certainly want to be a part of Adam’s presentation.  Bring a friend, too!

We will also be having a last-call on a few pieces of HF gear, including:

Kenwood 430S HF Transceiver. Very clean for age. 8.5 or better out of ten. Checked on all bands with good output power. Receiver very hot, as with all Kenwood radios. Mic and power cable included. $250

Drake TR7. Super clean TR7 WITH matching power supply. Hard to find a TR7 this clean and with the PS. I would really rate this radio as a 9.5 or better. Last radio line Drake built. This is a RARE late serial number unit. Checked all bands with full output. Complete original Drake service manual. I have been using this radio for the last few weeks and the receiver is excellent; as you would expect from a Drake. Worked Bavaria and Latvia on Saturday. The club will throw in a Drake speaker; very cool. Radio does have an older Icom mic for it and all power cords. $350 takes it home.

Icom 725 HF Radio. This is a very clean radio; one of the nicest 725’s I have seen in a long time. Good output; good receiver. Radio also has the optional AM/FM board which is hard to find. Radio has hand mic but no power cord. HRO has power cord for reasonable cost. $250
