For those that are not participating in the D-Star University on Saturday, July 9th, why not get your fill of Amateur Radio by fulfilling the Mission of the PRA and giving back to our community?
Tour de Ladies will be held on Saturday, July 9. It is a fully supported, non-competitive, women-only cycling event through the rolling hills of Douglas County. In 2015, they raised almost $14,000 for the Crisis Center, which helps victims of domestic abuse. There is a 30 mile and a 62.5 mile route.
The ARES group of Douglas and Elbert counties (ARESDEC) is providing radio communications for this event, and needs licensed ham radio operators to help provide support for this event. This is a great opportunity to practice operating while helping your community. If you would like to participate, please contact Richard, K1RAB, at k1rab AT yahoo DOT com. Richard will be working with the ARESDEC group as their liaison to the PRA and he will pass on more information as we get closer to the event.
