November 19, 2015  – Face to Face

ARESDEC will be hosting a guest speaker, Mark Hall, Communications Coordinator with the Jefferson County and Boulder County IMT’s and a qualified NWCG COML (wildland fire) and Colorado All-Hazards COML. Mark has served as a Type 1 and Type 2 Team COML and COMT on many national level fires and incidents including the Hayman and High Park fires, the Columbia Shuttle Recovery, 2013 Boulder Floods and over 50 other additional local, regional and national responses in his 23 year career in public safety communications. Mark will also be joined by Jim Rooney who will relate his recent deployment experience in Montana. This presentation will address the similarities and differences between amateur radio/ARES communications and wildland fire and all-hazards incident communications, training and preparation for such incidents and what to expect when supporting Colorado incident and large event assignments.

November 26, 2015 – Turkey Day 5k 

Chamber of Commerce Highlands Ranch Turkey Day 5k is a fund raiser supporting the Colorado National Guard Foundation. ARESDEC will be providing incident and safety communications for event participants on November 26th.
