The Dog Days of Summer have shown anything but a lack of activity for the Parker Radio Association.
At our August meeting, we reviewed our support of the Parker Police National Night Out. We received great feedback from the Parker PD and the residents attending the event. We were able to attract a few potential new members and welcomed back a fellow ham to the hobby.
We also reviewed the efforts being made to get the KØPRA Homebrew D-Star repeater back up to full operation. The goal would be by October-ish, and we hope that we can pull together a few loose ends to make it happen. In the mean time, we are thankful to Don, WØCFI, for his generosity and permission to use his UHF analog repeater as a hangout. Be sure to listen on 448.675 (100.0Hz Tone) for plenty of ragchew and our Tuesday evening nets at 7PM. Speaking of nets, don’t be hesitant to offer your services as Net Control. If you are interested, let us know (through our Contact Page) and we’ll put you in touch with Patrick, KT1GGR, our Net Coordinator.
We also have a FULL BOOKING of programs for our PRA monthly meeting through year’s end. From antenna building to DMR technology, and vintage equipment…back to school time means a great opportunity to learn something new.
Having fun, playing radio, and keeping the squelch loose…this is the PRA.
